Biography
Dr. Nelson C. NKALU is an Economist and Researcher with interests in Macroeconomics & Development Economics, Financial & Monetary Economics, Labour & Industrial Economics, Environmental & Health Economics, Econometrics and Applied Econometrics. He has over ten (10) years of experience in teaching and research in economics and policy-related courses at the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, and as a Teaching Assistant in Economics at the University of Aberdeen Business School, United Kingdom. He is a PhD holder in Economics (Development Economics) from the University of Nigeria. He is in the final stage of a second PhD in Economics (Applied Macroeconometrics) at the University of Aberdeen Business School, United Kingdom. Nelson is a full member of the Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics (SGPE), the Scottish Economic Society (SES), the Royal Economic Society (RES), and the Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) – all in the United Kingdom. Nelson has worked on many development projects and has published over forty-three professional/scholarly articles/chapters and policy papers in rated international journals. Given his excellent track records in development impact/evaluation projects, macroeconomic consultancy, and research, Nelson is awarded a fully funded research grant with a scholarship by the Nigerian government to carry out a cross-sectional project on “structural transformation, productivity growth and manufacturing output/efficiency” at the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom.
